Restoring Gainsborough's Architectural Heritage.
Gainsborough's rich architectural heritage — from the imposing Tudor grandeur of the Old Hall and the elegant Georgian townhouses along Church Street and Bridge Street to the Victorian terraces of the town centre and the substantial farmhouses dotting the surrounding Lincolnshire countryside around Saxilby, Sturton by Stow, and Market Rasen — demands a kitchen and bathroom approach rooted in authenticity. These are homes where original features set the tone: deep-set sash windows, ornate plasterwork, wide-plank timber floors, and proportioned rooms designed with a sense of permanence. A modern kitchen or bathroom must earn its place in that context.
Our timeless shaker kitchens are designed to do exactly that. In-frame construction with mortise-and-tenon joinery, hand-painted timber finishes in heritage palettes, solid oak or honed marble worksurfaces, traditional tongue-and-groove panelling, and period-appropriate brassware — every element specified to complement the existing architecture rather than compete with it. In the bathroom, we specialise in heritage suites that combine Victorian and Edwardian design language with modern performance: freestanding roll-top baths, high-level and low-level cisterns, wide-base pedestal basins, encaustic floor tiling, and period-correct chrome or aged brass fittings — all plumbed and tanked to contemporary building standards. Over 35 years of craftsmanship ensures every restoration is as structurally sound as it is aesthetically faithful.
